Welcome to ELWAS!
May Is Birdathon! | |
Where's that bird? | Birdathon is Audubon’s largest annual fundraising event, and the world’s largest bird-watching competition. Every year, thousands of people join us to count birds, have fun, and raise vital funds for Audubon’s mission of environmental conservation, education, and advocacy. Here’s how a Birdathon works: people count birds and collect pledges from sponsors based on the number of species they see. All you have to do is choose a date and time (usually in the spring, when birds are migrating) and start counting. You can do it alone, with a group, or join a Birdathon Team. You don’t have to be an expert – some people even do Birdathons from their couch, counting the visitors to their feeder. You can learn more here. |
We're Having an Art Sale
We've cleaned out the closets and nooks and crannies, and are selling off all the art that's been donated to the Chapter. All the art is on display at our offices, and available for purchase. For most pieces we're merely asking for a donation! Others will have a minimum price. You can see pictures of all the pieces here. Stop by during regular business hours (Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 9:00 to 1:00 for an up close look. | ![]() |
Marymoor Birdloop
At long last, after 24+ months of hard work on the part of many ELWAS volunteers in developing a plan and preparing the grant proposal, we have signed a contract with King County to become the Stewards of the Audubon BirdLoop at Marymoor Park. With this contract comes $100,000 in grant funds, whereby the Chapter will “adopt” the Interpretive Trail at the park. Now, where do you come in?
